According to local media El Economista, Jorge Vallejo, the General Manager of BYD in Mexico, indicated at an event showcasing the Seal 7 model that the automaker would "soon" announce plans to establish a manufacturing plant in the country.
Vallejo stated that by the end of 2024, BYD's sales of electric and hybrid vehicles in Mexico had reached 40,000 units. BYD's goal is to sell 80,000 cars in Mexico by 2025 and additionally open 30 more dealerships. By the end of 2024, the company had already opened 50 dealerships in Mexico.
