How to Conduct Morning Meetings for Factory Work Teams?

Time:2025-05-08 15:09:42 Source:未知 Click:

1. Summary of the Previous Day

Review and summarize the production status, quality situation, and efficiency of our team yesterday. Announce the names of employees who performed well and those who didn't, the problems that occurred yesterday, and the plan achievement rate.

2. Today's Arrangements

It's crucial that every employee knows the planned tasks for this shift, the so - called "last - mile" goals. Announce today's production plan and the key points of the day's work, including process allocation, the models of machines to be used, production volume, quality requirements, and 5S standards. This will enable employees to have a clear understanding of today's production and other related matters. Emphasize the importance of safe production and the requirements for implementation. New products, new methods, and new processes should be promptly communicated to the employees.

3. Team Building

The morning meeting of the work team is also a platform for promoting the company's various policies. It helps employees better understand the company and its products, and enhances their understanding of the corporate culture, thus improving their personal qualities.
Through the morning meeting, we can convey instructions from superiors, policies, work processes, work discipline, and provide education and training. This allows employees to have a clearer understanding of the company's policies, cultural concepts, and their own work directions, thereby improving work efficiency.

4. Time Control

The morning meeting should generally be controlled within 10 - 15 minutes. Some people may say that in our traditional industry, team leaders don't have a high level of education, so they can't conduct high - quality meetings. This is actually a big misunderstanding.
The misunderstanding is that we think only people with high education and good qualities can conduct good morning meetings. Many of our team leaders seem not to have the ability to hold such meetings, so we simply don't hold them. Instead, we think it's better to let employees spend those 10 - 15 minutes producing more products on the production line.
The quality of our team is determined by the nature of each industry. Don't think that our employees have low qualities. As an excellent manager, what we should do is to cultivate their qualities and improve their skills.

Morning Meeting Log

1. Basic Actions of the Morning Meeting

  • After the team is assembled, give commands for queue actions such as "At ease", "Attention", "Eyes right", "Eyes front", and "Stand at ease".
  • The host greets all employees loudly with "Good morning" (employees should respond loudly with "Good").
  • After the greeting, call the roll and announce the attendance status of the statistical personnel.
  • Today, the number of employees who should be present is ×, the number of those actually present is ×, the number of latecomers is ×, the number of those on leave is ×, and the number of absentees is ×.

2. Summary of Yesterday's Work

Announce yesterday's work discipline, business/production situation, delivery status, customer complaints, etc. Praise the employees who performed excellently the previous day to set an example and boost morale.

3. Conveyance of Relevant Meeting Resolutions and Spirit

Provide training/examinations (Q&A) on relevant systems/processes.

4. Arrangement of Today's Work Tasks

Assign tasks specifically to each individual and emphasize the points to note during today's work.

Notes

  • The daily morning meeting is from 7:55 to 8:10.
  • The department supervisor should fill out this log completely before the morning meeting, announce it during the meeting, and submit it to the relevant leader before 12:00.

As the saying goes, "Read a book a hundred times and its meaning will become clear." If we hold morning meetings regularly following this log, I believe that after one month, two months, three months, or half a year, the team leader will surely become a qualified and excellent one.
Sometimes, frequency is more important than content. We don't need to hold extremely high - level meetings at the beginning or tell a lot of motivational stories. In production management, we should also try to tell fewer motivational stories because there's no need to be overly lofty in 10 - 15 minutes. What we need to do is to be practical, covering the aspects we mentioned before: summarizing tasks, assigning tasks, raising and solving problems.
