China's NEV Output Hits 10M Milestone for First Time

Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows that on the morning of November 14, China's annual production of new energy vehicles (NEVs) broke through the 10 million mark for the first time, also making it the first country in the world to reach an annual production of 10 million NEVs.

According to statistical data, 2013 was the first year that the production and sales volume of new energy vehicles in China was included in the statistical system, with a production of only 18,000 units that year. By 2018, annual production had reached the million level, and by 2022, the annual output exceeded 5 million units. Today, for the first time, it has broken through the milestone of 10 million units, which is a 4.3% increase from the full year production of 9.587 million units last year, with still one and a half months to go before the end of the year. Experts predict that this figure is expected to exceed 12 million by the end of the year.

Over the past decade, under the guidance of the national strategy, nearly a hundred incentive policies have been introduced one after another. Product technology has been continuously updated and iterated, and the infrastructure security has become increasingly improved, jointly promoting the striding development of China's new energy vehicle industry. From marketization and industrialization to scaling up and globalization, it has continuously climbed to higher levels. In the future, China's new energy vehicle industry will not only achieve a leap in quantity but will also continuously break through in quality, contributing greater Chinese strength to the global new energy industry.
