2024 CSTREC Successfully Held in HK

On November 2, 2024, the three-regional screw industry exchange conference, held once every five years, took place in Hong Kong. Practitioners from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan gathered together to witness this grand event in the industry. As a professional media outlet for the fastener industry in mainland China, Chinese Screw Net participated in this year's exchange conference.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Xu Binghui, Chairman of the Hong Kong Screw Industry Association, Mr. Xue Kangsheng, President of the Fastener Branch of the China General Machinery Components Industry Association, and Mr. Hu Zhanfei from the Taiwan Screw Industry Association delivered opening speeches as regional representatives. In their speeches, they introduced the development of the fastener industry in their respective regions, the crises and difficulties faced, and unanimously expressed the need to strengthen industry exchanges, unite as one, and jointly open up a better tomorrow for the fastener industry.

After the exciting speech session, Mr. Chow Chi Yin, Senior Engineer and Manager of Carbon and Environmental Excellence Management at the Hong Kong Productivity Council, gave a keynote speech on the "EU Carbon Border Adjustment Tax Policy." In his on-site presentation, he gave a thorough yet accessible introduction to the current EU carbon tax policy, conducted a professional analysis in conjunction with the status of the fastener industry, and proposed several practical suggestions for the development of the fastener industry, answering the doubts of the guests from a professional perspective.

Mr. Jiao Junhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dongfeng Motor Fasteners Co., Ltd., and Executive Director of Shanghai Teqiang Automotive Fasteners Co., Ltd., brought the keynote speech "Introduction to New Energy Vehicle Fastening Technology." He meticulously introduced the current development of new energy vehicles in our country and the new requirements for fastener products, vividly demonstrating the application of various types of fasteners in new energy vehicles, and answered several difficulties related to the research, development, manufacturing, inspection, and application of fastener products for the industry present.

Subsequently, Mr. Chow Chi Yin from the Hong Kong Productivity Council took the stage again, delivering a keynote speech on "Quantification of Carbon Footprint for Manufacturing Products and Case Studies." In this speech, Mr. Chow detailed the process of carbon footprint generation in manufacturing and, with multiple corporate case studies, helped the fastener practitioners present to more fully understand the importance of green production.

At the end of the conference, Mr. Xu Binghui, Mr. Xue Kangsheng, and Mr. Hu Zhanfei jointly took the stage to present thank-you plaques to the two speakers in appreciation of their contributions to the fastener industry across the three regions.

Organized by the event's hosts, the guests moved to the Bauhinia Cruise for a banquet. Mr. Xu Binghui, Mr. Xue Kangsheng, and Mr. Hu Zhanfei once again took the stage to deliver speeches.

Mr. Xu Binghui expressed that Hong Kong's geographical location and business environment have unique advantages, hoping to deepen the industry's understanding of Hong Kong and strengthen cooperation among each other with these advantages. Mr. Xue Kangsheng stated that screw industry professionals from different backgrounds share the same aspirations and hope to enhance exchanges and interactions with industry colleagues worldwide, especially in the Asian region, for mutual benefit, win-win cooperation, and collaborative development. Mr. Hu Zhanfei pointed out that over the past few years, due to various internal and external factors, the fastener industry has developed slowly, but new ideas and directions continue to emerge. He believes that with the joint efforts of industry colleagues from the three regions, spring will eventually bloom.

Amidst the laughter and conversation of the guests, the 2024 Three-Regional Screw Industry Exchange Conference officially came to a close. Through this conference, practitioners from the three regions gathered together to celebrate and jointly promote the development of the fastener industry.
