What is the highest realm of welding technology? It is beauty, the beauty of the parts, gorgeous to the extreme!
TIG Welding is a welding method where tubes are directly welded together. The weld forms a scale-like pattern, also known as scale welding in short.
The main welding method is to select the welding point, apply electricity, strike the arc with the welding rod tip, melt the welding agent in the rod, and then slightly shake the welding clamp to ensure uniform melting of the weld metal at the welding position. Since the welding effect is generally good and looks like scales, it is called scale welding.
Welding technique 1: TIG welding itself belongs to the open arc operation and can observe the shape and flow of the molten pool very well, which is much superior to shielded metal arc welding.
Welding technique 2: The most important key during welding is to keep the hand steady to avoid shaking, which may damage the tungsten electrode and cause the molten pool to be contaminated with tungsten. The control method can be using the index finger of the hand holding the welding gun to support the welded pipe or plate. The length of the tungsten electrode can be selected according to the depth of the joint, usually 3~5mm.
About the wire feeding method, according to the size of the joint, when the joint angle is small, the welding wire can be placed in the middle of the molten pool and fed continuously; when the joint is large, the wire can be fed from both sides (requires considerable proficiency to avoid touching the electrode). Move the welding gun left and right to ensure good fusion of the edges.
About the surface finish, according to the scoring standards of exams and competitions, the TIG weld joint height is generally between 0~2mm, with a smooth surface, without edge biting, porosity, cracks, or incomplete fusion.
