The international independent sustainability rating platform, EcoVadis, recently awarded the largest independent company under the Würth Group – Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG with a gold medal, recognizing its outstanding performance in sustainable development within the global supply chain. In this rating, Würth is ranked in the top 5% among more than 150,000 evaluated companies worldwide and is in the top 3% within its industry.
The EcoVadis rating is based on numerous indicators, comprehensively evaluating organizations across four core issues: the environment, labor and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement in the supply chain. Würth received particularly high marks in the core themes of environment and sustainable procurement, which is in part due to our strict requirements for suppliers and certifications in ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 50001 (Energy Management).
Thomas Wahl, Director of Logistics, Quality, and Sustainability at Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, emphasized: "In our sustainability strategy, we have set the goal of achieving a basic circular economy by 2030. The EcoVadis gold medal confirms that we are on the right track. Moreover, this honor also highlights our confidence and determination in developing and providing sustainable products and solutions."
In addition to Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, several other subsidiaries of the Würth Group have participated in separate evaluations and received various EcoVadis medals: one platinum, six gold, six silver, and ten bronze medals.
