The hidden danger investigation in factories is a crucial task that affects the safety of the factory and the life and health of the employees. If hidden dangers are not discovered and addressed in a timely manner, they could lead to serious consequences. Therefore, conducting regular hidden danger investigations of facility equipment is something every chemical worker should be well aware of.
Next, we will explain the common safety hazards in facilities in detail from eight aspects:
- 1. Equipment and Facilities: This includes issues such as abnormal noises from gear reducers, oil leaks, and thermal deformation of plastic fan blades.
- 2. Piping and Fittings: This includes internal welding slag in piping after installation, dirty or damaged sight glass glasses, and other issues.
- 3. Electrical Instruments: This includes non-explosive electrical appliances being used in explosion-proof areas, broken window glass in electrical rooms, and other issues.
- 4. Static Electricity: This includes ungrounded or poorly grounded reaction kettles, piping, storage tanks, condensers, conveyors, flanges, and valves in flammable and explosive areas.
- 5. Production Site: This includes storing a large amount of raw materials or waste, and having many leaks, spills, and drips on site.
- 6. Personnel and On-site Operations: This includes no job operation records or incomplete operation records, and not wearing dust masks in powder feeding positions and other issues.
- 7. Civil Engineering: This includes no preventive measures for potential fire spread in vertical and horizontal piping shafts between floors, and not using explosion-proof walls and lightweight roofs or considering sufficient explosion venting areas for processes with explosion risks.
- 8. Production Maintenance: This includes not having emergency exit facilities or measures when cleaning and maintaining containers, no supervisors for welding operations or having new employees act as supervisors, and other issues related to violating safety regulations.
These are just some common hazards, and there are actually many other hazards that need attention. The investigation of safety hazards in chemical factories requires perseverance and cannot be relaxed in any way. It is hoped that every chemical worker will take this seriously and work together to maintain the safety of the factory.
